A visit to Sea Pines Plantation’s Harbour Town is a great way to kick off this holiday season. On Friday, November 23, 2012 Harbour Town will be aglow with illuminated seasonal figures and a towering 30-foot lighted Christmas Tree for the annual Harbour Town Lights festivities. Plan to bring the whole family and spend the day as there will be plenty for everyone to enjoy.
You can start checking items off your gift list browsing the more than twenty boutiques, galleries, and gift shops along the Harbour Town Basin where you’ll find everything from apparel to handcrafted jewelry to specialty food items. While shopping, don’t forget to put in your vote for your favorite local elementary classes’ artwork depicting the holiday season in the Lowcountry displayed in various shop windows for the Holiday Window Contest. Grab a bite to eat at one of the six Harbour Town restaurants in your choice of a casual or fine dining environment and then stick around for the official tree lighting and the Gregg Russell Concert at 7:30 pm.
In this season of giving, you can also bring along a non-perishable food item or two to donate to the Deep Well Project who will have a donation area set up in Harbour Town. The Deep Well Project is a non-profit organization serving the basic needs of the less fortunate on Hilton Head Island - providing “a hand up, rather than a hand out.”
